April is recognized as “The Month of the Planet Earth” by virtue of Proclamation No. 1482 signed on April 10, 2008 by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The proclamation takes note of the Philippine support for the global consensus on the need to protect and save the planet from environmental degradation and to ensure a sustainable future for all.
Pursuant to declaration of then President Corazon C. Aquino on April 4, 1988 Proclamation No. 237, declaring the month of June every year as Philippine Environment Month and to give time and effort towards the protection, enhancement and development of the country’s environment.
